Available courses

This is the first week of an English language arts unit on picture books that examines the life experiences of authors and how it impacts their work.

It is designed for 8th grade ELA students in a HyFlex/HiFlex program. Students are able to participate in the active portion of the lessons in-person, online synchronously or online asynchronously. The active class time portion of each lesson is 12 minutes long. Students are expected to devote an additional 48 minutes to work outside of class for each lesson.

The lessons satisfy NYS 8th Grade ELA Learning Standards and correlate with the NYS Learning Standards for Social Studies 8th Grade Framework.


Journey in Applied Science: Architecture explores structure types from all around the world. From humble adobe abodes to soaring skyscrapers, we discover how natural resources and climate influence architecture and examine the amazing technical science behind how these structures work.

This is a fully online high school level science course and aligns with NYS Science Learning Standards.

Introduction to Online Learning

Taking courses online offers convenience and flexibility, but unique skills and knowledge are needed for effective, efficient learning in an online environment. This course equips students for online learning success. Students will build their self-regulation skills while exploring environmental factors, study techniques and social considerations through readings, discourse, experimentation and experience.
